1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Account information: Name, email address, phone number, country, and password when you register.
• Supplier information: Company name, business licence, shop location, product listings, photos, and business card.
• Agent information: Professional background, languages, pricing model, office address, and portfolio photos.
• Communications: Messages sent through the in-platform chat system between buyers, suppliers, and agents.

Information collected automatically

• Log data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent.
• Device information and identifiers.
• Usage patterns and interaction data to improve our service.
• In the app: only the photos and documents you choose to upload (the app never reads the rest of your gallery), and permission to show notifications for new messages.
• Your recent searches and the products you open are remembered on your own phone or computer, so you see related products first. They are not sent to us.
• When you are signed in, the products you view are recorded so suppliers can see how many people viewed their listings and so we can suggest related products.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and provide the Hello Yiwu service.
• To connect buyers with suppliers and sourcing agents.
• To process and display your supplier or agent profile to relevant buyers.
• To send transactional emails (confirmation, notifications, receipts).
• To improve our platform, prevent fraud, and ensure security.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these circumstances:

• Supplier and agent profiles are publicly visible on the platform as part of the core service.
• Messages are shared between the sender and recipient only.
• Service providers: We use Supabase (database and authentication), Netlify (hosting), and Anthropic (AI photo search, only when switched on). Each handles data under their own privacy policies.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with row-level security (RLS) policies ensuring each user can only access their own data. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.

Uploaded files (photos, documents) are stored in Supabase Storage with access controls. Business licence and verification documents are only accessible to platform administrators.

5. Your Rights

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Update your information through your account dashboard.
• Deletion: Delete your account at any time in the app or on the website (Settings → Delete my account). It is deleted at once: your profile, shop, products, photos, chats and saved items. Records we must keep for accounting and legal reasons (payments, plan and advertising records, and reports of abusive messages) are kept without your profile. • Portability: Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

6. Cookies

We use session cookies to maintain your login state. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may also store authentication tokens via localStorage for session persistence.

7. Children's Privacy

Hello Yiwu is a B2B wholesale platform intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
